To open the event will be Germani Brescia (vs. Udine, 6 p.m.): “It is an honor for us to take part in such an important competition and it must be a celebration for the whole city. Eight participations in ten LBA seasons is a true recognition for everyone’s work and an achievement that is by no means a foregone conclusion. Udine is a formation we know well, strong and of which we have the greatest respect. They are showing very good basketball, but we want to play the best we can based also on what our fitness allows us. We want to perform well and we have a desire for redemption, especially after the Varese loss,” the words of Cotelli, coach of Leonessa.

Lots of anticipation to see Olimpia Milano, one of the favorites for the final victory, along with Virtus Bologna, at work. Coach Poeta’s team will face Trieste (2:45 p.m. ball), which has just changed coach (bench to Taccetti): “The first game of a competition based on direct elimination is always the most complicated and full of pitfalls. We face a team that has the weapons to put anyone in trouble in a dry game, that has already beaten us in the league and has a lot of talent. We will have to be good at imposing our physicality and pace from the beginning,” Coach Poeta’s reflections.

L’Olimpia Milano and Virtus Bologna are the teams that have won the Coppa Italia the most times, exactly eight times. The “biancorossi,” however, are coming off two consecutive finals losses. Last year, Trento&#8217s victory right over Olimpia with Ellis, now turned white and red, MVP.

Beware of surprises. In the last ten editions, seven different teams have won it (Turin, Cremona, Venice, Brescia, Naples, Trento and Milan). Olimpia is the only multi-time winner in this span (it has won it four times since 2016), but the last one was in the Pesaro edition of 2022.
