“I managed to improve every time I went to the track – added the young Bolognese at the microphones of Sky Sport F1-. I struggled a bit with the balance, I had a lot of understeer since Q2. I also asked the team if there was something broken in the car. Even in Q3 it was not easy, however, I managed to put together the lap and will start first”.

“I will enjoy it a little bit, but not too much, because the focus is already toward the race. It feels good to take pole, but you have to finish well. I am aware of the opportunity tomorrow, it would be really nice to be able to bring Italy back to the top step of the podium” confessed Antonelli, who brought Italy back to pole position after almost 17 years (last time Fisichella in 2009).

“The pace is good, because even in the Sprint I remounted well, however, the start was a weak point. This morning I saw what went wrong, tomorrow I will try not to complicate things too much. I will try to do the procedure correctly, warming up the tire well”.

“I was able to restart from mistakes, like in Melbourne. This morning was a very difficult race, full of chaos and mistakes, this result is the best way to end the day. I definitely like to make life difficult for myself, however, I am happy with how I managed the session” Antonelli concluded.
