Novak Djokovic has an ancient secret: his former coach reveals it

One of the champion’s secrets, revealed by those who have known him since his career had yet to blossom.

Novak Djokovic managed to pick up the thread of his successes interrupted by a very complicated start to 2022. He did so by winning the Wimbledon tournament, which coincides with the 21st Slam in his trophy cabinet. A run-up that started from afar, as witnessed by his long-time coach Bogdan Obradovic.

“The first time I talked to him, he was nine years old,” Obradovic recalled to the microphones of the ‘BBC.’ “When he turned 13, we started working together. And we did that for 18 years. Well, every time Novak repeated to me that his desire was to get to 30 Slams won. That is his goal. And he will continue to do tennis for the next five years, the possibility of doing it exists.”
