Sampdoria, surprise name pops up for post-Giampaolo role

New suggestion for the bench at Sampdoria.

Sampdoria, following the exoneration of Marco Giampaolo, is reportedly considering several profiles, including that of Dejan Stankovic, who resigned from Red Star following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Stankovic’s name had already been approached by the Blucerchiata club after D’Aversa’s dismissal last season. In that case, however, the former Inter player was still sitting on the Red Star bench while he is now unemployed.

The Serbian coach would not be the only papable replacement for Giampaolo. The list would also include Daniele De Rossi, who was also recently approached by Salernitana, and Aurelio Andreazzoli, as new names, although the possibility of a return of Ranieri or D’Aversa is not to be ruled out.
