Cristiano Ronaldo is now in real danger. The Portuguese is the top goleador in the Champions League: 140 goals in 183 games. As is well known, the Manchester United striker is not participating in Europe’s top competition this year (he may not even participate again).

Messi is getting closer and closer to snatching the record from him. With the one-two finish against Maccabi Haifa, PSG’s Argentine ace has risen to 129 total goals (in 160 official matches), thus just 11 goals away from equaling CR7’s turnover in the Europe that counts. The feeling is that Messi is particularly keen on surpassing his all-time opponent who, for his part, cannot answer him, being out of the Champions League loop.
