After Portugal’s elimination from Qatar 2022 at the hands of Morocco, Lusitanians defender Pepe indulged in a heavy outburst against Argentine referee Facundo Tello.

“It’s unacceptable that an Argentine referee refereed today after what happened yesterday, with Messi complaining,” said the current Porto player, just after the end of the quarterfinal against Regragui’s men.

“After what I saw today they can already give the title to Argentina,” concluded Pepe polemically, who, like Cristiano Ronaldo, in all likelihood played the last World Cup of his career.
