Milan-Cortina 2026, Attilio Fontana silences the owls
“Our team is close-knit and compact.”
After speaking on Monday at the end of the meeting in Milan of the steering committee on the 2026 Olympics, Lombardy Region President Attilio Fontana once again wanted to reassure everyone about the absence of problems related to the organization of Milan-Cortina 2026, the Winter Olympics to be hosted by our country.
“I feel like I can say that even those concerns that had been highlighted for some works will definitely be overcome,” the politician had said, who then on Tuesday, after the meeting in which the amendment of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Foundation Statute was signed, reiterated full confidence in the team dedicated to organizing the event.
“We certainly do not fear the Cassandras who, even in these hours, inexplicably, seem to hope that ‘everything will go wrong’: sportingly speaking, given that the theme is the Olympics, I can only confirm how our team is close-knit and compact and that, through a team game, it will get to the finish line by centering the goal of making itself ready for the 2026 Games,” he began in statements taken by ANSA. “The mix formed by Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige – which have always made concreteness their way of doing things – supported by the government, CONI and the Foundation, will bring luster to the entire country for an important and long-awaited event,” he concluded.
