Italian Super Cup, Milan: Stefano Pioli does not hide his disappointment
Stefano Pioli dark in face after Super Cup knockout
It is hard to find positive sides in Milan’s night in the Super Cup. This was admitted by the Rossoneri coach himself, Stefano Pioli, speaking to the microphones of ‘Sport Mediaset’ after the rout on Saudi soil, a 0-3 that rewarded Inter reflecting the wide difference on the field at the level of play between the two teams.
“We made a first half that was not up to the mark, made too many mistakes,” the Parma coach began. “We wanted to reopen it but we did too little to aim for something better. We are not used to making so many mistakes, then against such strong teams you pay for them all, these mistakes. Clearly we are not living our best moment, especially on a mental level.”
For Pioli, however, it is not a problem of individuals, shrugging off studio criticism, above all, of Theo Hernandez: “I am not talking about individuals, we need harmony and mental freshness to find our game again. It is clear that individually everyone has to do better, this is a hard blow but we will have the strength to react.”
