Scariolo’s words on the eve of Virtus Bologna-Barcelona

Virtus Bologna coach Sergio Scariolo presented in a press conference the challenge against Barcelona, a match valid for the 24th day of the Euroleague, scheduled for Thursday at 8:30 pm.

“Obviously against a team like Barcelona to have a chance to win you have to play at your best: they are very good on both sides of the court, a deep roster with great experienced Euroleague champions. They have talent and a very good system of play, with some top statistical items, and of course they are top in the standings as well. It is a team that protects the area well and at the same time is the best team by lowest three-point percentage allowed to opponents.”

“There is admiration for the great opponent we will have in front of us, at the same time we are playing a very good Euroleague, we are always competing, doing our best in every game and this is very visible. Our competitive pride is high, the compactness of the team is important: if we can play to the best of our ability, despite having as always in this season several absences, I think we can have our opportunities,” Scariolo concluded.
