NBA, All Star Game 2023: Paul Banchero Wins Rising Stars

13 points scored, between semifinals and finals, by the Azure basketballer

The 2023 All Star Game, hosted by Salt Lake City, Utah, opened its weekend of entertainment with the quadrangular dedicated to the emerging stars of overseas basketball. Four teams, each captained by an ‘old’ NBA glory, used 28 young talents among rookies, sophomores and G-League players in a formula that included two classic semifinals, but played to the best of 40 points, and a final, which decreed as the winner the first team to reach 25 points.

Our Paolo Banchero, selected for Team Gasol, won the first challenge 40-25 against Team Deron: 9 points scored by the Orlando rookie. In the last act, pitted against Theme Noah, the team coached by the former Los Angeles Lakers star prevailed 25-20, with 4 points scored by the Blue.

MVP of the Rising Stars was voted Jose Alvarado, author first of 13 points and then of 5, as well as the decisive triple in the final act of the competition.
