Halle, Jannik Sinner beats Gasquet: derby with Sonego

Jannik Sinner advances to the round of 16 at the tournament in Halle, Germany. The South Tyrolean tennis player beat France’s Richard Gasquet in three sets with scores of 6-3 5-7 6-2, and will thus face compatriot Lorenzo Sonego for a place in the quarterfinals of the German tournament.

A match that lasted two and a half hours and was very challenging for the athlete from San Candido, who suffered from the experience of the transalpine especially in the second set. For Sinner a total of 11 aces and only two double faults. The best form is still far away but it is a step forward for the Blue after recent disappointments.
