It could have been a sweet summer for Lukaku and, instead, it turned into a real nightmare. He seemed destined to return to Milan, Nerazzurri side. Dream vanished, relationship soured. Juventus alternative? Yes, perhaps now it would seem not with Giuntoli interested in other profiles for the attack.

Big Rom feels abandoned. He has vented via social media, talking about hate and lies but, at the end of the day, he is left alone. The only plausible alternative is to fly, as so many others have done, to Saudi Arabia in the increasingly rich Saudi Pro League.

Al-Hilal is ready to shower him with gold: as much as 50 million euros per season, plus signing bonuses. A decidedly lavish proposal that would make anyone happy but not Lukaku, who would love to stay in Italy and, if possible, return to play in Serie A. A wish that seems unattainable, also because Chelsea, the owner of his tag, is pressing more and more. It wants to “get rid” of Big Rom and wants to do it quickly. He could have been the king of the summer market, he has become the biggest case of this market window. The feeling is that, in the end, he will have to raise the white flag and convince himself that Saudi Arabia is the only feasible solution. The resolution of the yellow seems now imminent. Lukaku is running out of time, the alternatives would not be there. Saudi Arabia is waiting for him.
