Ducati: Tardozzi is outspoken about Pecco Bagnaia and Casey Stoner
Ducati: Tardozzi discusses Pecco Bagnaia and Casey Stoner
Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi in an interview with As compared Pecco Bagnaia to Casey Stoner: “They are two different riders, but they have the same mental attitude. I think Pecco is still growing, he has already made a big jump by winning the World Championship, but the biggest jump in his head was this year, after the two crashes in Argentina and Austin.”
Bagnaia has learned from his mistakes and is now taking off in the World Championship: “He has the winning mentality that Stoner had. A lot of people said he was content with second place at Silverstone, but that’s not the case; he gave his best. He gave his best there too, only the Aprilia was faster and had more traction.”
According to Tardozzi, the Piedmontese rider will soon take another step: “He is a smart guy and he talked a lot with the team, and what happened made him take another step to become even more of a champion.”
Since Mugello, Bagnaia has scored five wins and four second places between the sprints and Sunday races: he now has a 62-point lead over Jorge Martin, his first pursuer.
