Federica Brignone hooks Sofia Goggia: "I really wanted to win"
Federica Brignone celebrated her victory in the women’s giant slalom in Mont Tremblant: thanks to this victory, the skier from Valle d’Aosta has joined Sofia Goggia in 22 World Cup triumphs.
For Azzurra è it was the ninth success in the giant, a discipline dear to her: "The giant è my first specialty, then came the successes in the other specialties, but the wide doors remain a discipline to which I am very attached. I really wanted to get a good placing, in Canada I had never won".
"I was very satisfied with the result of the first run, instead I did not feel good in the same way in the second run, although I liked this snow – Federica explained -. Contrary to what happened last week in Killington, here è everything" changed.
Così Marta Bassino: "I skied pretty equal in the two heats, only I had missed some push in the first run, here the slope è very flat and happy but at the same time difficult to push becauseè if you lose the ideal trajectory, it becomes difficult to recover. Here I took a step forward, I am happy, but also in Killington despite the exit in the second run, I had felt good".
