The idea of a joint MotoGP-F1 weekend resurfaced
.
Dorna boss Carmelo Ezpeleta, in March last year, had been the first to publicly reveal the’initiative, in agreement with Liberty Media, to combine a Formula 1 and a MotoGP race weekend on the same circuit.
An’idea that seems crazy because’as formulapassion.it reports, safety standards and barrier placement are completely different between two-wheel and four-wheel races, but above all, the sponsors of the two categories are different.
But Ezpeleta però again revived this crazy idea in an’interview with Marca, quoted again by formulapassion.it: “With Stefano Domenicali, with whom I have had an extraordinary relationship for many years, we have been thinking about this for some time. Clearly it è not easy, but I can say that this idea has not è left our thoughts. If it can be done, we will do it”.
Bontà his, Ezpeleta went on to deny a’possible evolution of MotoGP towards’electric: “This possibility’at the moment è very far away. I am more in favor of the quest for zero pollution with synthetic gasoline. If one day then hydrogen should be a viable solution, we will consider with the manufacturers what to do”.
