At the Council Hall of the Municipality of Pesaro was held the press conference for the presentation of Italy-Turkey, a match valid for the qualification to the European Championships that in the summer 2025 will be played between Riga, Limassol, Tampere and Katowice. Two-a-side kickoff Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the Vitrifrigo Arena in Pesaro against coach Ergin Ataman’s Turkey.
During the press conference è spoke coach Gianmarco Pozzecco who announced a novelty: "I know well how much Pesaro lives of basketball, here you always come very willingly and as National Team we knew that we would be welcomed with enthusiasm and passion. "I will liveò the handover between Gigi and Nik but I am not worried becauseé certainly è assured continuityà from two professionals who are soì attached to the Azzurra jersey. Turkey will beà not an easy opponent, è a’very good team and è coached magnificently by Ergin Ataman, one of the best coaches at the European level of all time. The game will be complicated but I trust my players and I am sure we will play a great game" concluded the coach of the Azzurri.
"Pesaro binds me a special memory, in 2011 I came here on loan from Pesaro and for me è it was like being reborn, becauseé I was greeted by so much affection – said Nicolò Melli -. Tomorrow debuting as captain right here in Pesaro will haveà a special flavor. I thank the president for his words for me. Tomorrow we will face Turkey with maximum concentration, it will be a complicated match but we know that there will be a great audience and we want to repay them in the best way.
