Luca Banchi’s statements after the knockout with Olimpia Milano

The third act of the LBA Finals ended in favor of Olimpia Milano, which won in a sprint over Virtus Bologna 81-78, giving itself the first Scudetto match point. At the end of the match, in the press room, Black Vu head coach Luca Banchi, among the various topics discussed, dwelt on the controversial refereeing decision at 15 seconds to give the Red Shoes the throw-in and the failure to call a pass infraction against Mirotic.

"On the last play you can clearly see that the ball goes in the opposite direction to Abass and the throw-in given to Olimpia è an objectively inexplicable and baffling decision. I can&#39t explain even with 15 seconds to go the step infraction not whistled to Mirotic who without contact drags his knees to the floor. It's obvious that that è an'infraction" began the Virtus Bologna head coach.

"We must try to reset everything, not waste unnecessary energy and not lose confidence. The team has to stay focused and determined, all the competitions are being decided in the final minutes and on those possessions we have to have more clarity; so that we don’t have recriminations. We try to take advantage of what Milan’s defense gives us. We try to take advantages. These are intense, tough contests and they are decided on the small details. Every single possession canò determine the&39;inertia of the match and the series" added the Latvia coach.

"We played another game of great intensity; managing to always stay in touch with Olimpia. We were unable to find the plays in the end that would have been needed to finish the job. We have to keep our spirits high, have courage and work hard to come back here in 48 hours with the will to win and take the series to game 5" concluded Luca Banchi.
