Carlos Alcaraz brings Europe back into parity over the Rest of the World in the Laver Cup being held at the Uber Arena in Berlin. In the second singles match of the second day, the Spaniard beat Ben Shelton of the United States with a 6-4 doubles win in nearly an hour and three quarters of play.
Alcaraz has two break points already on 2-2, does not exploit them, saves one himself in the next game but on 3-3 at the seventh opportunity manages to break the world number 17.The number 3 has two set points already on 5-3 but on 5-4 closes the first partial by holding serve at zero.
The second set is decided in the first two games: Alcaraz takes advantage of a’chance in the first, saves one in the second, then the two lose two points each on their next four serve turnovers and the Murcian closes the match by still holding serve to zero.
