Saturday of regrets for Pecco Bagnaia
Started with high expectations in the Sprint Race MotoGp of Thailand, Pecco Bagnaia had to surrender to his teammate Enea Bastianini, first at the finish line, and especially to Jorge Martin, who was able to finish ahead of the reigning world champion and gain two more very heavy points in the rainbow key.
Speaking on the sidelines of the awards ceremony, Bagnaia did not hide his dissatisfaction with the third place finish: "I did not get off to a bad start – he began – but I quickly realized that something was missing, my feeling with the bike was strange compared to free practice and qualifying. We need to analyze some data and figure out what happened".
Going into the details of what didn't work, Bagnaia pointed his finger at the tires: "I didn't feel good with the front,” he quipped, “I was struggling especially in the third sector, even though at the end I had a similar pace to those in front of me. I simply could not attack them".
"It's a real shame how it went,” Bagnaia said afterward, concluding his speech. “I had a chance to recover some points and instead I lost two. You might think they are a few, but at this time of the championship you can't afford to lose too much ground".
