Jorge Martin is not satisfied with the title: “I want to be remembered”
The world title is still not enough.
Jorge Martin è graduated as MotoGP World Champion 2024, in what è was his last act not only as a Team Pramac rider but also riding a Ducati. Next season will coincide for him with the start of his Aprilia adventure, and the Spaniard seems to have no intention of sitting on his laurels.
"Winning è something stupendous, but alone is not enough,” Martin told the Spanish editorial staff of 'Men's Health' magazine. I aim to leave an indelible mark in the history of motorcycling, I want to be remembered. Being successful without looking for deep meaning in one’s victories makes that success an empty box".
Martin also admitted that graduating as MotoGP champion has already been a turning point for him in his relationship with the discipline: "Before I was obsessed with winning. But è it was a way of experiencing competition that had never allowed me to succeed. Today, for me, the most important aspect of my relationship with motorcycling lies in always maintaining the'balance".
Ahead of the move to Aprilia, Martin had said goodbye to Ducati after the joy of Montmelò without any hard feelings: "Many said that the factory team would never allow a satellite team to win and especially a rider who would change brands. Instead, they have been true gentlemen and have left me free to compete", he had stated hotly.
