Inter has already started planning the summer market with a clear objective: to further strengthen a squad that within the national borders has shown solidity and depth throughout the season and that wants to take revenge in Europe after a Champions League year with a bitter ending. Among the profiles being monitored most closely is that of Marco Palestra, Cagliari’s revelation but owned by Atalanta, who is considered one of the most interesting youngsters on the Italian scene in the role of right outside.

The Nerazzurri club, according to Corriere dello Sport, will enter into the thick of talks with the Bergamo club in the coming weeks to see if there are margins to find an agreement on the valuation of the player’s card. However, the operation, in order to be sustainable, will inevitably require sacrifices: there is even talk of two relegations, in order to accumulate a useful treasure to avoid stumbles in the negotiation phase as happened between the two nerazzurri clubs last summer for Ademola Lookman.

The most exposed names in this sense are those of Denzel Dumfries, linked to a valid clause for foreign countries of 25 million euros until July, and Luis Henrique, already sought by Bournemouth in the last winter session. The departure of one of the two could guarantee some leeway while the double transfer would pave the way for Palestra. The only doubt, however, comes from the possibility of losing two useful elements for the flank, giving all the responsibility of the right lane to the 2005 class.

To remedy the potential shortage, the Nerazzurri management is carefully considering possible grafts from the Under 23 team, which just finished mid-table in the Serie C championship without qualifying for the playoffs but saving itself rather easily. In this sense, the names of Matteo Cocchi and Issiaka Kamate, who have already been summoned to the first team, are the most popular ones.
