Inter market, not only Palestra: two names remain in the running for the band

The sale of Denzel Dumfries to Real Madrid is forcing Inter Milan to accelerate for the right-sided full-band outside role. The number one target remains Marco Palestra, who has returned to Atalanta after his season on loan at Cagliari: the Orobico club, however, is not willing to discount the 50 million request and the precedent linked to the Loookman deal, which was blown up last summer precisely because of price issues, forces the Beneamata to think deeply about what to do.
In this sense, the Inter management is studying different alternatives, with two names back in the news in the last few hours after some soundings made in recent weeks: the first is Daniel Muñoz, a great protagonist of Crystal Palace winner, within two seasons, of FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League. Class of 1996, Muñoz will be a special observer of the World Cup that is about to begin, being among the twenty-six summoned by Colombia’s technical commissioner, Nestor Lorenzo.
The second is instead a big name among the upcoming free agents: Dani Carvajal. With the expiration of his contract, his long adventure at Real Madrid, of which he was also captain, ended for good, the 34-year-old is looking for a new experience and is looking at Serie A as his next stop. On him there would be the interest of Como but it cannot be ruled out that Inter could try to make a lunge by guaranteeing coach Cristian Chivu a man of experience to face the commitments in Italy and Europe with great ambition.
Palestra, however, remains the number one target, as indirectly confirmed by Inter’s BoD president Beppe Marotta in the columns of Gazzetta dello Sport: “Of course, we also like him, who have always believed in the Italian soul of our team. Italians guarantee identity and a direct link with the illustrious past of a legendary team like Inter.”
