The definitive turning point in the split between Milan and Massimiliano Allegri could come from one day to the next. Once the termination of his contract is formalized, the Livorno-born coach will be free to join Napoli and be officially announced as Antonio Conte’s successor.

In the meantime, however, Napoli’s transfer activity isn’t on hold. Although the deal hasn’t been made official yet, Allegri has reportedly already held discussions with Aurelio De Laurentiis and Giovanni Manna regarding future strategies. Among the names mentioned to bolster the defense, Mario Gila stands out as the top priority for the back line. Should Lazio continue to resist, the identified alternative would be Federico Gatti.

There are also interesting developments on the offensive front. According to reports in *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, Napoli has made an inquiry about Alexander Sorloth, a forward who has long been on Juventus’s radar as well, as the club works to revamp its attacking lineup.

This shake-up could also affect Napoli. Romelu Lukaku, in fact, appears closer to leaving than to staying, while Lorenzo Lucca, who has returned from his loan at Nottingham Forest, is being tracked by several clubs. Among them is Lazio, and this interest could facilitate potential developments in the negotiations for Gila.

Currently playing for Norway at the World Cup, Sorloth is expected to leave Atlético Madrid. The Norwegian center forward is therefore a player to watch closely, especially if Juventus were to turn its attention to other targets and Napoli were to see some departures from its attacking lineup.
