Reyer Venezia is doubling down on its perimeter players: another signing is on the way

Reyer Venezia is stepping up its roster moves ahead of the upcoming season, particularly on the perimeter. Following the arrival of Glynn Watson, formerly of ASVEL Villeurbanne, the orange-and-gold club has also signed Sir’Jabari Rice, a U.S. guard born in 1998. This was reported by La Nuova Venezia.
Last season, Rice first played for the Czech team Nymburk, averaging 14.8 points in the league and 18.6 in the Champions League, then moved to Spain, where he stood out in the ABC league with Andorra, averaging 13.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
These moves in the perimeter player market are part of a broader reorganization at Reyer. Reyer must, in fact, cope with the departure of RJ Cole, who has joined Olimpia Milano on a two-year contract with a 1+1 option: the American point guard had led Venice to the Scudetto final with averages of 16.4 points, 5.2 assists, and an efficiency rating of 18 in the league, emerging as one of the best players at his position in the entire LBA.
Neven Spahija has signed a three-year contract with Reyer Venezia: “The season that just ended brought us great satisfaction, but at the same time made us realize that we now have even greater responsibility for the future. The Italian league is becoming increasingly competitive; there are many strong teams with significant investments, but I am convinced that, by working together with the owners, management, and the entire staff, we will be able to build the best team possible and continue on the path we have embarked upon.”
