MotoGp, Gigi Dall'Igna speaks out on strategy at Ducati’s headquarters

Although the competing Manufacturers have come closer than in recent years, Ducati remains the ruler of MotoGp, having won all the sprint races run so far in the season and as many as ten out of twelve Sunday rounds (the only exceptions were the success of Zarco on Honda at Le Mans and that of Bezzecchi on Aprilia at Silverstone).
In all of this shines through not only the’year at the moment to be framed by Marc Marquez, leader by a wide margin in the standings, but also the excellent performance of the riders riding the Desmosedici GP24, such as Alex Marquez or, at least until the’injury, Franco Morbidelli. Gigi Dall’Igna, speaking with ‘Speedweek’ explained that the competitiveness of last year’s bike was not the result of chance but of a precise strategy, recalling in any case that development is now focusing only on the GP25.
“Already before the winter tests I had stressed, during the team presentation, that the differences between the bikes would be minimal – explained the general manager of Ducati Corse -And that’s exactly what it is. We knew what to expect from the GP24 and the outstanding characteristics of all our riders: so why take risks ”.
“It is true that at the beginning of the season you could hardly notice any difference between the GP24 and the GP25 – said Dall’Igna again. However, now the GP25 riders have benefited from more developments, both from an aerodynamic point of view and thanks to the new chassis, which we introduced gradually over the course of several Grands Prix. The GP25 riders now have a few more chances”.
