Luciano Spalletti spoke on the eve of his Champions League debut as Juventus coach: “The other night I am glad I made certain choices because they gave me back information to continue with the work. With Sporting it will be a very difficult match and because they know how to play soccer. They know how to stay on the field and they have a very precise idea of play that is complicated, however, to codify. They are very good at making role substitutions. Then they have great dribbling quality in the three-quarter”.

The fans dream of the Scudetto: “Meanwhile, I talked about fighting for the Scudetto and not about winning the Scudetto. There’s a difference. We have to confront every day with this name and this history that stimulates us to do better and better. As long as the math does not prohibit us, we must be in a position to aspire to fight for anything. Speaking of slogans, not enough until the end, but beyond the end”.

“The Cremona victory is only thanks to the team, I didn&#8217t put a hand in it. The players were attentive to the demands and the responses from the field were what I expected. They were always team-blocking. They were not long except in some situations. We made re-compositions that can be reused for the future. Now we have one more practice, today’s, and it’s to add information. But what pleases me is the eyes with which they look at me. This for me is fundamental and tells of the players’ desire and willingness to want to do well. They are a good group from a football and human”

point of view.

“Champions is a privilege. It’s the suite of soccer. We have to have an’idea of what it means to be a team and we have to protect it with a great personality. We have to have the courage to choose what we want to do. One can make the wrong choice, the right choice or be uncertain. The’uncertainty is worse than the’mistake. Playing every three days cannot be an alibi. This is what soccer is now. There are no loopholes. We have to go inside the field and be curious about what we find”.
