Nicole Carassiti stoppered in Madrid returns home: ‘A lightness’
Nicole Carassiti Stopped in Madrid
Nicole Carassiti will not participate in the World Games in Birmingham, U.S.: yesterday the Lazio athlete left Rome with the Federkombat Italian delegation, but her trip was short-lived: after checks at the Madrid airport, she was unable to catch the plane to the U.S. The Kickboxing delegation, led by President Donato Milano, arrived in the States without the Fight Club Pro champion. Together with Federkombat President Donato Milano, there is coach Gianpietro Marceddu (technical director of K-1 specialty), with only one athlete: Alessio Zeloni.
President Donato Milano’s account. “A carelessness did not allow her to be here, some documents related to the anti Covid protocol were not complete,” he said. “She had only one dose of vaccine, instead she should have presented certification of complete vaccination cycle. Sorry, because a great opportunity was wasted, as well as a long period of training and preparation for this prestigious event. In Madrid, where we had a stopover, Nicole was unable to embark for the United States. A shame, but she is young and will make up for it: next year she will have the European Olympic Games and the Kombat Games. I am very bitter for her, as a girl and as an athlete. And also for Italy, which here in Birmingham will have one less star to showcase and one less chance to win a medal.”
