Maccabi Haifa fasting before Juve: ‘But we will be ready’
Coach Bakhar ahead of the match with Juve: “The Yom Kippur holiday will not affect us.”
Maccabi Haifa coach Barak Bakhar assured that despite the Yom Kippur holiday the Israeli club will be ready for the Champions League match against Juventus.
Many players will be fasting: “I will fast, some players will, but we have a large roster, even foreigners who will be able to play because they are not Jewish. Yom Kippur is an important day for Judaism. Maybe someone fasting will want to play, it ends an hour and a half earlier and maybe they will be able to get enough nutrition. But I assure that those who will play tomorrow will be ready, they will be fine, we will be programmed to give our best.”
On Juve: “They won an important game the day before yesterday, they are a great team and they have many strengths but some small deficits. They have important players and they have to do everything to win, but we believe in ourselves and we are convinced to do a good result.”
