Valentino Rossi dictates terms to Yamaha: his words
Valentino Rossi to Yamaha: “The difference with Ducati now is too big, we need another step”
Yamaha has made no secret of its courtship of Valentino Rossi’s VR46 team, which could become Yamaha’s satellite team in MotoGp starting in 2024, despite its agreement with Ducati.
However, the Doctor himself at Sky’s microphones sent a clear message to the Japanese company, which first and foremost must return to being able to compete with Ducati in all GPs: “Yamaha has always focused on balance, but now the difference between the engine and Ducati is very big. Ducati in recent years has put everyone in trouble.”
“Not only Yamaha, but all the Japanese brands are in trouble because Ducati has changed gear,” explained the rider from Tavullia. “It has been like this since 2016, but in the last two years they have taken another step. The Japanese have to make a choice because the game has changed. They need more money, more resources. They have to understand that they have to do more if they want to win,” is the clear indication.
