Reyer Venezia, Walter De Raffaele candid: “There was a lot of anger.”
Reyer beats Bursaspor in Eurocup and puts Brindisi defeat behind them
As stuttering in the league as it is lethal in the Eurocup: Reyer Venezia’s season continues in this vein in the seventh round of the second competition organized by Euroleague Basketball, in which the Orogranata beat the Turks of Frutti Extra Bursaspor 78-65, conquering their fifth consecutive success in the continental arena.
Coach Walter De Raffaele, in a press conference, admitted that tonight’s was a crucial game to put behind him the championship defeat on Brindisi’s parquet: “There was a lot of anger before this game,” said the coach, “I have to thank the ownership of the club and all the management for showing their closeness. Tonight there was a response in terms of the group, from the players. Beautiful also the atmosphere, the audience was dragging.”
“I am very happy with this victory,” De Raffaele explained, “we played perhaps the best game of the season so far in terms of execution, discipline, defensive focus for 40 minutes. The proof is the only 65 points conceded to one of the strongest teams in this competition, one of the most experienced: it is no coincidence that it is last year’s finalist.”
