Bitter day for Valentino Rossi and his Mooney VR46 team. The Doctor, who was present in Austria during the MotoGp Sprint race, saw both of his riders crash in the early laps of the short race in Spielberg.
Marco Bezzecchi crashed at the start after an unfortunate carambole with Zarco and Oliveira, while Luca Marini slipped on lap six after contact with fellow Ducatista Jorge Martin.
Valentino Rossi, who was following his boys trackside, put his hands on his hair in disappointment.
VR46 will try to make up for it on Sunday at the official race.
