Lewis Hamilton: surprise words toward former “enemy” Fernando Alonso
The ancient, bitter rivalry seems to have been finally overcome.
Lewis Hamilton relaunches with Mercedes and lays the hatchet with Fernando Alonso once and for all. The two have been rivals for years, starting with the fateful 2007 when the Englishman debuted and contended with his then teammate in McLaren for the title that later went to Kimi Raikkonen in Ferrari. All this time later, forò every quarrel seems definitely over.
"Seeing that Fernando è still on the grid è a pleasure – Hamilton said in an interview granted to the official Formula 1 website -. He had been here a long time before I arrived. Obviously he had retired in the meantime, but since è he is doing an extraordinary job. He è proof that talent never goes away, and as long as you get out on the track with that kind of passion and commitment you can keep racing".
Hamilton è then dwelt on the fresh renewal with Mercedes, with which he will raceà at least until 2025. "I really believe that with this team we can win more world championships. All my energies are focused on this goal,” he admitted. “And although I have really been racing for many years, I still feel that I can improve every week".
