Alessia Gennari reveals the musical secrets of Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano
The Musical Secrets of Conegliano
At the microphones of VBTV, the official Over-The-Top (OTT) live streaming platform of Volleyball World (Vb.tv.), volleyball player Alessia Gennari, the Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano’s setter for the past two seasons, talks.
Alessia Gennari’s passion for the world of volleyball stems from her desire to be part of a team, a concept that è was then the initial push for a successful career in the Serie A League, which led her to win a Supercup and a Scudetto in 2015 with Pomì Casalmaggiore and to be today the setter of the Venetian women,
"The year of the Scudetto, 2015, è was for me the emblem of how a team can make a difference, even with opponents on paper stronger. A magic had been created, such an inertia that è it was truly a fairy tale. In addition, I played with players I was later inspired by" tells Alessia.
As for the reasons that pushed her towards the Conegliano team, Alessia puts first the hunger for victories of a team where every day the bar is raised to find a new satisfaction. "I feel that in the team there’s a lot of respect for the various personalities that animate the group, there’s no envy, only the will’to win, and everyone pushes in this direction" explains Alessia, who in the team she is part of 2022 admires the respect of the different characteristics that come together for the good of all.
Even today, therefore, team harmony remains a sacred concept, the engine that propels a team toward victory and that has two key concepts at its base: clear goals and the willà of the whole team to achieve them, running in the same direction, leaving individualisms in the background.
However, there is no recipe for the perfect team. That of Alessia Gennari è però a winning mix of experience and youth;: crucial is the presence of at least two leaders who can set the right example to the rest of the team on how to behave in training and on the right way to approach matches but also of players with a more’lively disposition or those with calm manners. For the winning Conegliano team also there is no shortage of pre-match rituals: “We have the same set list of songs that is masterfully orchestrated by Marina Lubian. It is usually always very charged music. We also always go out on the court all in the same order. Since the Italian Cup in Trieste, when we are in the tunnel before going out onto the field, we sing the chorus of ‘Take Me to Church’ by Hozier".
