Lando Norris precedes Ferraris in Montreal’s first free practice
McLaren’s British driver Lando Norris set the fastest time in the first free practice of the Canadian Grand Prix.
On the Montreal circuit Norris lapped in 1’24”435 ahead of the Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc by 328 and 871 thousandths, respectively. Fourth at over a second and a half was the Briton of Mercedes seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
The session è was affected by rain and even hail, and once the precipitation ended the times gradually improved but ranking è resulted inevitably distorted. Just to say, Red Bull world champion Max Verstappen è finished fifth with a two-second gap.
It could not miss the now customary, in these sessions, red flag d'ordinance, for a bang without consequences of Guanyu Zhou with his Sauber. At 11 p.m. there will be the second free practice session.
