Charles De Ketelaere, abrupt halt in the negotiation between Milan and Atalanta
Milan and Atalanta divided by a question of figures
What until a few days ago seemed to be a simple formality is likely to find an unexpected twist: the redemption of Charles De Ketelaere by Atalanta is in fact no longer so obvious, given that the Orobica management and that of Milan, the club that holds the Belgian’s card, are still rather distant in terms of figures.
After the 2022/23 season in the Rossoneri, which was decidedly below expectations, Milan had sent De Ketelaere to Bergamo on loan with the right of redemption set at 22 million: the Belgian, in the Nerazzurri, has è to say the least, found himself again and with 14 goals in 50 seasonal matches è been the protagonist of a season that culminated with the conquest of the Europa League.
Atalanta would therefore have every intention of redeeming De Ketelaere, but would like a discount on the amount agreed upon last summer: a request that does not please the Rossoneri management, ready thus to blow everything up in order to look for a new buyer as of next June 14, the last day to redeem a player on loan.
Only a few more days, then, to understand what will be the future of Charles De Ketelaere: in addition to the possible permanent transfer, the possibility of seeing CDK back in the Rossoneri is not even ruled out anymore, should the next coach consider him useful for the upcoming season, the first post-Pioli season.
