Michal Sadilek, incredible bad luck: falls off bike, no Euro 2024

The Czech Republic loses, just days before the start of Euro 2024, one of its most representative players, midfielder Michal Sadilek. As reported by a note from the Czech federation, in fact, the footballer under contract with Twente suffered a leg injury when he fell off his bicycle, in the aftermath of the friendly match against Malta (won 7-1) in which Sadilek himself had worn the captain’s armband.
"The players who played more than 45'in Friday's friendly against Malta played an individual program on Saturday. Michal Sadilek unfortunately è fell while riding his bicycle and suffered a leg injury" explained the Czech national team’s chief press officer, Petr Sedivy.
"For us è a great loss, becauseé Michal è one of the most experienced players,” Czech Republic coach Ivan Hasek further said. After all, in the match against Malta he also wore the captain’s armband. On behalf of the whole team, I wish him a speedy recovery. We will decide in the coming days whether and how to replace him".
Michal Sadilek played twenty-four games with the Czech national team, scoring a goal against Montenegro in June 2023 in a friendly. He was one of seven veterans of Euro 2020, an event in which the Czech Republic climbed all the way to the quarterfinals, then defeated by Denmark.
