Riccardo Moraschini goes under the knife: long recovery time

On Tuesday, Riccardo Moraschini underwent examinations to precisely assess the extent of the injury suffered during game-3 of the final for promotion to Serie A between his Pallacanestro Cantù and Trieste: the Brianza club confirmed the need for surgery, before a stop of about three months.

"Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù announces that athlete Riccardo Moraschini è has undergone a series of specialist examinations to assess the’entityà of the right knee injury, sustained during the playoff finals – reads the company&#39s note; biancoazzurra – The examinations, confirming the diagnosis of the first investigations carried out in Trieste, showed a second-degree injury to the medial collateral ligament, at the same time excluding an involvement of the cruciate ligament".

"Moraschini will undergo minimally invasive surgery on Wednesday. The recovery time for the player’s return to the field è estimated at about three months" concludes, in the statement released Tuesday, the Canturino club. For Moraschini, therefore, the stop will beà long, in a period when the championships are stopped anyway.

Class of 1991, Riccardo moraschini è in Cantù since summer 2023. He has previously played with the undershirts of Virtus Bologna (a club where he completed his youth roster), Biella, Sant'Antimo, Virtus Roma, Mantova, Trento, Brindisi, Olimpia Milano and Reyer Venezia. He also boasts 32 appearances with the senior national team in his career.
