Matteo Berrettini starts thinking about derby with Jannik Sinner
The words of Matteo Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini is looking forward to his debut in Wimbleon against Hungary's Martòn Fucsovics: "I feel with great energy and with a lot of desire to do well, to get on the court and to do my best. At the same time, given the results of the past years and my feeling on the grass, I always feel quite high expectations on myself. I try to find the balance between having fun, playing, struggling and doing something that satisfies me”.
“The ‘machine’ is fine, it needs match, continuity; winning, losing, playing. The level will buyà with this kind of investment. Which, making averages, è happened in the last two Tournaments. I got to the bottom despite little tennis in my legs and arms. I don’t come in with the confidence of a few years ago, but tennis è a particular sport. Today I close my eyes and think that è a year has already passed, a million good and bad things. But the most important thing è being here and feeling inside the Tournament. I’m thinking about tomorrow’s game and it already feels like a miracle”.
In case of a win there could be in the second round an all-Italian derby against Jannik Sinner: “My headè on the first match, if it happens I think it will be a happy day for all of us".
