A good Inter team surrenders to Laurent Blanc’s Psg. The Parisian outfit won 1-0 in the friendly match in Doha thanks to a goal, at the end of the first half, signed by the very young Augustin, a striker born in 1997.
Despite the fact that it is only a friendly, the French coach sends several starters onto the field from the first minute, including former Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco Verratti. Roberto Mancini responds by fielding Stevan Jovetic, supported by the Perisic-Ljajic-Biabiany trio, and also giving space from the first minute to Andrea Ranocchia, at the center of persistent market rumors.
It was Psg who started the match better and only a good save by Handanovic on Matuidi allowed the Nerazzurri to keep their goal inviolate. The Milanese response came in the 18th minute when Montoya engaged Trapp with a powerful diagonal shot. The real goal-ball, however, happened between the feet of Marco Verratti, who from inside the box let suffer a sharp right-footer that was printed on the crossbar to a beaten Handanovic. The transalpine’s goal came when the first half was almost over when, again Augustin, was ready and crossed well right-footed beating the Nerazzurri’s extreme defender.
The ‘Beneamata’ came close to equalizing at the beginning of the second half but Trapp was not surprised on Jovetic’s deflection. Despite the push by Mancini’s men and the usual round of changes, Inter failed to grab the equalizer. It ends 1-0 to Psg in Doha, a result that, however, can give important answers to Roberto Mancini in view of the continuation of the season.
