Jannik Sinner speaks out about his progress in Cincinnati

For the fourth time in four matches played in Cincinnati, Jannik Sinner took the victory without losing a set, and against Felix Auger-Aliassime he did so by losing just two games, without taking any risks as he did against Gabriel Diallo and Adrian Mannarino, who were able to drag him all the way to the tie-break of the second set (which Sinner won in both cases, however).
At the microphones of the tournament organizers, Sinner explained his progress on the Cincinnati concrete, without mincing words: “There’s to be said that every match is different from the other, you don’t always play with the same player– began the South Tyrolean -. I am serving well but the key to this match was my response to the opponent” serve, I changed something compared to the last few matches”.
“Against Auger-Aliassime it is very difficult to play: he serves well, he moves well and physically he is in great shape – added Sinner -. I, thanks to my staff, prepared myself in the best way and it showed on the court. In these tournaments you have to get used to the conditions, only match after match you can understand where to intervene to correct some mistake”.
“Now there’s a day of rest, it will be really useful ahead of the semifinals. What opponent am I expecting? It doesn’t matter who is going to be there, it’s important to be fully committed on the court. Then we will see how it will go” concluded the No. 1 ATP ranking, who in Cincinnati is looking for an encore after his victory in the 2024 edition, a success achieved at the time in the final against Frances Tiafoe (this year forced to retire in the round of 16 during the match against Holger Rune).
