Noah Dettwiler is back to take stock of his physical condition after the frightening accident in Sepang: “Dear friends, motor sports fans, esteemed supporters and fans. I am pleased to inform you about my current state of health. Rehabilitation is progressing well and I am making important progress. The goal, of course, is full recovery and I am trying to achieve it with all possible determination and strength. My desire is to return to my best as soon as possible and, of course, to get back on the track. An important first step has been the recovery of my physical independence, a key goal after what happened in Malaysia.

“Before the accident I was very happy at the idea of being able to participate in the next season of the Moto3 World Championship with Paolo Simoncelli’s Team SIC58. A dream that, thanks to the efforts of my parents, Paolo Simoncelli and Sorpasso AG, was about to become a reality. But then, as you all know, the accident happened on October 26 in Sepang. This event changed my plans for the near future. Paolo Simoncelli was very supportive of my family during this difficult time and was willing to wait for my recovery. With immense gratitude I respect and trust Paolo has generously shown me. I thank Paolo, Marco Grana and the entire SIC58 team wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, at the moment it is still unclear when I will be fully healed and ready for the profession. Therefore, it would not be right to interrupt such an important journey without sufficient certainty. Therefore, I wholeheartedly wish Paolo Simoncelli and SIC58 every success for the future”, announced the centaur.

“One thing is certain: motorcycle racing is my passion, my life and my job, and for that I will give my best to return to 100 percent as soon as possible. The last two years in the Moto3 World Championship have not been easy for many reasons, but I want to put the past behind me and look to the future with optimism. With the help of my loved ones, Sorpasso AG and my new technical team, I can do this with confidence. Together we are looking for the best way to get back on track and be successful. I will keep you updated and as soon as we have certainty, I will inform you about the new goals. I embrace you, thank you for your great support, and greet you with a quote from Paolo Simoncelli that for me embodies the essence of the sport I love: “Motorcycling cannot be explained. You love it, you suffer it, you live it. And even when it hurts, we cannot stay away from it”, he concluded.
