Iling-Junior’s injury is more serious than expected

Instrumental examinations performed by Samuel Iling-Junior have extinguished the optimism of Juventus’ young English footballer, who after the match against Lecce had said he was confident of recovering quickly from his ankle contusion.

“Samuel Iling-Junior, following the right ankle contusion/distortion injury sustained yesterday, underwent radiological examinations this morning at J-Medical that ruled out fractures,” reads the statement released Sunday by Juventus, which, however, specifies, “Approximately 20 days will be required for his full recovery.”

Given the upcoming break for the World Cup, therefore, Iling-Junior will only be able to return to Serie A (and possibly European) pitches in 2023.
