Aeneas Bastianini no-nonsense about Pecco Bagnaia
A clear message to the world champion, and indirectly to Ducati as well.
Enea Bastianini does not mince words ahead of the upcoming MotoGP season, and during an interview with a sponsor he had no hesitation in answering the question about the first opponent to beat in 2023. “It will definitely be Pecco Bagnaia,” he in fact stated.
The Rimini native then admitted how competitive MotoGP promises to be in the new season. “All the riders have a very high level of preparation, and there is great balance between the bikes,” Bastianini explained. “But as for me, Ducati has believed in me. And I have to reciprocate their trust with results on the track.”
Bastianini, then, told some backstory about his arrival at Ducati. “I was at the beach, I was coming home while on the bike and I heard the phone vibrating. It was Gigi Dall’Igna, who told me they wanted to move me to the in-house team. I immediately called my girlfriend to tell her, then my parents. It was a day of celebration, absolutely unique,” his words.
