Just a few days after the announcement of Weezy Russell’s return, Treviso is looking ahead and preparing its next moves to provide Marcelo Nicola with a deep and competitive roster for the 2026–2027 season. After a season that ended with both highs and lows, the club has defined its guidelines for the summer transfer market, promising its coach additional targeted signings, while keeping a close eye on sustainability in an increasingly complex economic landscape for Italian basketball.

General Manager Federico Pasquini, speaking to ‘La Tribuna’, outlined the situation, explaining that some decisions will depend on international player movements in the coming weeks. “Barring any offers we simply can’t refuse, I think we might have more opportunities for a starting guard after the Las Vegas Summer League,” he explained, suggesting that the ideal candidate could emerge from the U.S. market in late July.

The search for the other two pieces is more complex: “For the power forward and a second center, there isn’t much available at the moment, but we’ll evaluate our options. The idea is to follow last year’s approach: the market right now is inflated by the massive investments made by some clubs; in the LBA, the top ten teams are spending insane amounts of money.”

Alongside foreign players, therefore, there is another priority the executive considers key: internal development. “I also want to think long-term, as I did a year ago with Allinei: I’d like to establish a system to recruit young players, develop them, and then integrate them into the first team.” This is a forward-looking project that could become one of the pillars of the Biancoblù’s new era.
