Sofia Goggia just misses podium in Cortina: "Tactical problem"
Lara Gut-Behrami won the Super-G in Cortina d'Ampezzo, a round valid for the Alpine Ski World Cup: the Swiss skier signed a time of 1’20″75, beating Stephanie Venier by 21 hundredths. Third place went to France’s Romane Miradoli. A day devoid of joy for our athletes, who failed to make the podium on their home slopes: Sofia Goggia finished in fifth place with 58 hundredths of a second. The skier from Bergamo after the race expressed some regret but also satisfaction with her weekend.
"I think I did a good race,” she told the Fisi microphones, “I went long in some parts and to keep the line I braked a little bit. Tactically I was not too smart especially in the lower part. Overall, I am happy with how è this weekend went. I completed two podiums and a good super-G, the season è still long and there’è time to make many more good results".
The other Azzurre: Marta Bassino è sixth at 75 hundredths from Gut-Behrami, Federica Brignone ninth despite a slip, Laura Pirovano è twelfth.
