European Athletics: two more medals for the Azzurri
Italy's athletics continues to roar: on Sunday evening two more medals arrived to embellish the Azzurri's already rich haul at the ongoing European Championships in Rome. Zaynab Dosso took third place and the bronze medal in the women’s 100 meters: with a time of 11.03, the Azzurra è was beaten only by Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith, gold in 10.99, and Poland’s Ewa Swoboda, silver in 11.03.
Dosso, from Reggio Emilia, also signed the new Italian record in the 100 meters. Bronze medal also for Catalin Tecuceanu in the 800 meters: with a time of 1:45.40, the Venetian of the Fiamme Oro è finished behind only Gabriel Tual (1:44.87) and Mohamed Attaoui (1:45.20).
Great satisfaction for 21-year-old Luca Sito, who shattered the Italian record in the 400 meters, qualifying for the final with a time of 44.75. Also doing well was Filippo Tortu, Olympic champion, who è qualified for the finals in the 200 meters with a time of 20.14: with him there will also be Fausto Desalu (20.39).
