Goodbye to Jean Petit

These are sad days for those who love soccer. On Monday; Gigi Riva, legendary striker of the Italian national team and Cagliari, died; on Tuesday; Jean Petit, the iconic man of Monaco who played 12 times in his career with France, including participating in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina, also left us.

Born in Toulouse on September 25, 1949, a very elegant midfielder, he spent his entire career with the Principality’s red-and-whites, with whom he twice won the championship (1977-1978 and 1981-1982) and a French Cup (1980-1981). In 1978 è he was also elected the best French footballer.

His connection with Monaco è continued even after his farewell to playing soccer. He held every possible role, or almost: è he was a member of the technical staff, video analyst, assistant, interim head coach and adviser to the president.
